I received a demotion in Aug 18’, from PFC- PV2. I was Eligible to be promoted in Dec 18’, meeting both TIG/TIS. Come February 19’, i still had not received my promotion. My 1SG was even continuously asking me when I was due, and where my 4187 was because he would sign it for me. I have a surgery at the end of March 19’ , but was due for a pt test either way. I did not pas my APFT, and became flagged. I have spoken with my PAC/S1 and they state that because i met TIG/TIS prior to my flag, 2+ months prior, a 4187 can still be done but with back dated information.

Does anyone know the regulation or th exact policy that covers this? My leadership is wanting it and I’m unsure where to find it.

The regulation that covers promotions is AR 600-8-19, however, as previously commented by SSG Carpenter your 1SG should already know this information. It appears as though he’s either failed you or it’s not that important, either way it’s a failure of true leadership and guidance. Good Luck to you...

Does you leadership also not know where to look? Go to armypublishing.army.mil, across the top you will see publications, a drop down menu will appear, go to administrative, army regulation. It will show the whole list of active regulations. I'll let you find the ones that apply to your situation. But you will need 2, promotions and flags. The Google machine will help you figure out what numbers they are.

If you are currently flagged you cannot get promoted. Once the flag is removed you will be eligible again.
