So I’ve been asking around with other people that have put in FSTE packets and they don’t really have an answer for personal reasons. I’m currently trying to extend at my duty station for an extra year to handle some personal things that I have going on in my life here. On the 4187 most of the reasons are military related and I am not married so that does not apply to me. If anyone has been in a similar situation or has put in a FSTE packet and could help me out for what to put on it it would be great help. Thank you.

You don't have to have any reason to submit an FSTE other than that you are requesting to stay. People try to extend in overseas commands all the time. It happens so often that now people who want to reenlist for stability OCONUS have to be approved by the strength management of their MACOM.
