What should I expect as an E-4 92F getting stationed in Fort Gordon ?

I just got my orders to go from Reserves to Active Duty . In both of my previous reserve units they weren’t aloud to carry fuel so I would basically stick around the motor pool and help the mechanics . I have no experience as a 92F . What type of base is fort gordon for a 92F ?

For Gordon only has one unit that has 92F mos. that is 35th signal brigade. You will have LMTV fuelers. Field time is only 4 days, you will do fueling operations during the week but probably help out the mechanics. Also asking to be the HAZMAT rep will also give you something to do that’s kind of in your lane.

There are FORSCOM units at Fort Gordon even though it is mainly TRADOC. You will do you MOS but there is only so much work there so you may help out in the orderly or the motorpool often. The best advice is to not get involved with any AIT students, PERIOD!!! Also, work on getting promoted.

Although Fort Gordon is a training base, they have a part of the Installation that is FOSCOM (deployable). So as a 92F, you will probably be stationed on that part of the Installation. All in all, Fort Gordon is a pretty good base. There are a lot of different places you can go on the weekend such as Mrytle Beach, SC, Hilton Head, GA, Atlanta, and Florida. I was stationed there for 3yrs and I loved it!!!

My wife is currently station here in Fort gordon lucky me I got to for station here too for the next 3 years !

They also have an Inscom side of the house that has a deplorable theater level unit that does have fuel haulers and uses them.
