I was in school for 14 months (language school) and my dependents were living with me the whole time in California. Came on orders to Italy. Moved my dependents back to Maryland and took off to Europe and got me a barracks room. When I was in-processing here finance said that the Gov't only pays for one move-mine, which was only an unaccompanied baggage, mostly pro gear. IS this true?
By the way, We PCS'd from Maryland to California and got paid DLA in 2018.

DLA is not a PCS. You get DLA when you PCS.
Reading what you've responded to others, nothing was worded wrong in your orders, you failed to apply for command sponsorship of your dependents. Failed to, or elected to leave them.
It sounds exactly like you elected the unaccompanied tour.
If you chose the unaccompanied tour, you can reach back to your old MPD, change to an accompanied tour, have your family get their EFMP screening and apply for command sponsorship.
If you chose the unaccompanied tour, you'll have to have them get their EFMP screening and apply for command sponsorship from your location. You'll be extended to an accompanied tour and your family can fly out to you.

I highly recommend you to talk with finance. Also, make sure your orders read you’re going to assist with the relocation of your dependents with a designated area identified.

SFC, Finance said they can't do anything with orders. I would have to get them amended at MPD at my old duty station. But they're refusing to amend orders stating that government only pays for one move. And that's my move to Italy.

If you have already PCS’d to your new duty station you won’t be able to get your orders amended. All changes and amendments have to be completed prior to the PCS move. Since your orders did not read relocation of dependents to a designated location, they will only pay for your move because you did not notify them prior to your move that your family was not staying in the area of your last duty station. I’m not sure if this is an option for you but you can always change your tour to an accompanied assignment and request command sponsorship. If you do this the Army will pay for your family to move to where you are.

As stated above, if your move is already completed, the losing command will not amend your orders and your new location is not authorized to amend orders from another installation.SSG (Join to see)

Check your order and see if dependents are authorized. If not get them amended.

Sir, they're on my orders. I guess it was worded wrong: Family will remain at current residence at City, STATE ZIP. Travel of your family members to overseas duty station at government expense is not authorized at this time.

SSG (Join to see) hence the issue. Try to get an amendment. Be cognitive that you family moved from DLA to their current location on the government’s dime.
