I am going to Korea next year and was wondering when my family wants to travel back to the states can they use Space A without me going? If they can does anyone know how much a ticket might run?

Unless the rules have changed since I retired, yes they can. Best option is to get them "command sponsored" (there is another term but I can't remember the wording). If not, they will be the absolute last priority for boarding. Depending on number of PAX, it could make the difference between traveling or not. It used to be free to travel but you have to buy boxed meals if they want to eat on the plane (last time I flew, it was $5 per meal, probably changed by now though).

SFC (Join to see) - Environmental Morale Leave is the term I was searching for. It puts them at Category 4 for travel instead of Cat 6 (with us lowly retirees). If you travel with them, using EML puts you at Cat 2, just behind duty and Emergency Leave passengers.

If they are travelling unaccompanied I believe they have to be listed on your PCS orders. Otherwise you need to be with them and in possession of orders or a valid DA-31.

SFC (Join to see) - I was a little unsure of my answer so I went and double checked. I'm glad I did because I got it wrong. Here's what the regs say:
Dependents of active duty and retired personnel are eligible to travel CONUS or OCONUS when ACCOMPANIED by their sponsor. Eligible (command sponsored and non-command sponsored dependents whose sponsor is stationed overseas can travel unaccompanied (some CONUS restrictions apply) as CAT-V. Finally, dependents whose sponsor is on a deployment (30 days or more) may travel unaccompanied without their sponsor anywhere Space-A is allowed as CAT-III (selected after Active Duty CAT-III for deployments 365 days or more) or CAT-IV (30 -364 days). All dependents under 18-years of age must be accompanied by an eligible parent or legal guardian. Dependents of retired military members cannot travel unaccompanied without their sponsor.

Go to Koreana, Orbitz, Kayak, or Traveloddessy and put in some dates and see. What ever a "planned rate" is will be double when it is a no notice flight.
