I’m a SGT-P looking to reclass to 17E. However, there is a good possibility that I’m going to make points VERY soon. What happens when I apply and make SSG while the process is taking place? Do they deny me? Do I still get the SGT SRB bonus ?

You're not eligible to apply, you don'teet the prerequisites. Also, it's no longer an application MOS, it's just a simple Reclass request. The only way to gain a waiver for your rank is to request a grade exception from the MOS propenent and submit that along with your Reclass request

Thanks for the assistance. What exactly is requesting a grade exception from the MOS proponent? And how difficult is it to obtain? By the way, I’m a 25L.

SGT (Join to see) generally, you find the MOS propenent, who's located at the school house, shoot them an email and an ERB. Ask them for a grade exception and if they permit it you'll receive a memorandum back from them. HRC physically can't place you into a course that you don't meet the prerequisites for without that waiver. I'm not in front of a computer, but if memory serves correctly 17E is only open to E5 non promotable at the maximum for active duty.
