I had never heard of them before so I had to research a little. From what I found, they seem to have a positive, strictly Constitutional message. I think it's great they highlight the oath of enlistment and bring to light many potential situations we as service members and American citizens may face one day i.e. 1. We will not obey orders to disarm the American people 2. We will not obey orders to conduct warrantless searches of the American people. etc.

I also looked up the articles they have posted. Each article cites and has a hyperlink to the original author/source, which I find validates the Oath Keepers. I can't stand any group who spreads false propaganda or illegitimate information with no source.

What scares me is how many "pro-Constitution" groups there are who knowingly spread rumors and false info just to entice people to join their cause.

Oath Keepers was founded by Stewart Rhodes, a Yale law school graduate and former paratrooper, on Lexington Green, April 19, 2009. It is "a non-partisan association of current and formerly serving military, police, and first responders" dedicated to keeping the oath to defend the Constitution. Specifically, there are ten orders that Oath Keepers deems would violate the oath if obeyed. They therefore resolve the following:

1. We will NOT obey orders to disarm the American people.

2. We will NOT obey orders to conduct warrantless searches of the American people
.
3. We will NOT obey orders to detain American citizens as “unlawful enemy combatants” or to subject them to military tribunal.

4. We will NOT obey orders to impose martial law or a “state of emergency” on a state.

5. We will NOT obey orders to invade and subjugate any state that asserts its sovereignty.

6. We will NOT obey any order to blockade American cities, thus turning them into giant concentration camps.

7. We will NOT obey any order to force American citizens into any form of detention camps under any pretext.

8. We will NOT obey orders to assist or support the use of any foreign troops on U.S. soil against the American people to “keep the peace” or to “maintain control."

9. We will NOT obey any orders to confiscate the property of the American people, including food and other essential supplies.

10. We will NOT obey any orders which infringe on the right of the people to free speech, to peaceably assemble, and to petition their government for a redress of grievances.

Long version available at http://oathkeepers.org/oktester/declaration-of-orders-we-will-not-obey/

I think that Oath Keepers is a well-intentioned, admirable, patriotic, and law-abiding group.

Oath Keepers organized armed security (volunteers who brought their own gear) during the Ferguson riots for small businesses (mostly minority-owned) who couldn't afford to pay a security company. Their efforts were effective.
