I've had a passion and the drive to become a commissioned officer since my JROTC days in high school. Of course, being the eager graduate, I jumped into an army contract without knowing all of the resources available. Fast forward 2.5 years later, a friend of mine I graduated high school with has just commissioned through the Early Commissioning Program, and I was dumbfounded. He informed me about the Junior Military Colleges and what they had to offer, and it was like finding the fountain of youth. I don't wish to use this as a shortcut so to speak, but it does solve many of my problems I've had pursuing OCS/Green-to-Gold.

Please advise.

Talk to your school’s Veteran Certifying Official and someone at the VA Education Center about using Post 9/11 for other than tuition costs at the school, there are numerous fees, but also consider that many schools throw housing into the mix for ROTC scholarship students

I don't have any personal experience obviously, but my previous boss was the Professor of Military Science at NMMI. He has an was an awesome place to work and talked about the opportunities it provided to future officers. There are a few officers I've worked with that have attended JMC's. By all means, go for it and be successful!
