Being part of the reactivation of the 10th Mountain Division in 1985 I had the honor of meeting 10 10th Mountain WW2 Vets when we took part in training at Camp Hale. One such Vet I kept in contact with as I learned he lived local to my home town. After my ets we maintained contact visiting with each other until his death last year. For me to be able to hear the history of the unit I was proudly part of from a WW2 Veteran is absolutely priceless. I will forever miss our talks. Soon we will not have the opportunity to sit and talk to a WW2 Veteran, so if you get the chance talk to one. These great warriors will soon all be missed.

Every time I attend my VFW meeting, I get a chance to talk with them

Being the president of the 30th Infantry Division Association and a member for 15 years has allowed me to gain a lot of friendships of WW2 veterans. Along with that, I have lead a dozen staff rides in France, Germany, and the Netherlands which has also spurred more contact

Every time I run into them. And I make it a point to say "Thank You".
