I serve in Iraq in 2009 and my DD214 says GWT service medal and I also have the Iraq Campaign medal. Does the Iraq Campaign medal replaces the GWT expeditionary medal?

No the Expiditonary medal only covers certain periods of OIF and OEF. If you qualify for the GWOTEM then you can choose to wear the ICM or the GWOTEM, but not both.

If you received the GWOTEM or SM medal between 19 March 2003 and 30 April 2005, you may be able to wear the EM/SM and the ICM. You cannot be awarded, nor can you wear, an EM/SM or ICM that were for the same act, achievement, or period of service.

Essentially, if you received the GWOT in 2004, and then an ICM in 2006, you would be able to wear both.

SGT Javier Silva I should have gone more in depth. You cannot wear all three for the same period of service. For instance, I have a 2004 deployments and 2008 deployment to Iraq. I can either wear the service medal, Expeditionary Medal, and Iraq campaign medal or I can wear the service medal and the Iraq campaign medal with an additional campaign star

SFC (Join to see) - Gotcha. However, from my understanding, you cannot wear a campaign star for a period that the GWOT was awarded for, if you decided to just wear the ICM.

SGT Javier Silva that's exactly right. You can wear either/or but not both.
