My command wants me to take a pt test. No worries there. My only worries are my shins. I just came off profile for them and the physical therapist said I won’t be ready for a pt test anytime soon. I can’t get another profile until the morning of the pt test. The command is aware that my shins still hurt me. And it’s a DAPFT. Would I still have to take it since I don’t have a profile ?

There is a recovery time that is associated with profiles before you can take a record APFT . Look at AR 350-1 and FM 7- 22.........
A-41. Soldiers with temporary physical profiles must take a regular three event APFT after the profile has expired. Soldiers with temporary profiles of long duration (more than three months) may take an alternate aerobic event as determined by the commander with input from health-care personnel.
Once the profile has been lifted, the Soldier must be given twice the length of the profile (not to exceed 90 days) to train for the regular three event APFT. If a regularly scheduled APFT occurs during the profile period, the Soldier should be given a mandatory make-up date for the APFT.
As a 1SG and CSM I treated the DAPFT the same as a record APFT as far as who was eligible and profile recovery time went. Use your NCO support channel and talk to the 1SG.

You might want to go and get that profile.

Yes you do. Here is the thing about profiles. Based on the regs and standards of the new profiles, you are supposed to be ready/able to take an APFT the day after your profile ends. It doesn't matter that your physical therapist says you aren't ready....especially if your physical therapist does not have access/capabilities to write profiles. You're going to need to convince your NCOs that you need to go to sick call again to get another profile.
