How's it going my fellow runners! I just recently decided to get back into running seriously, and was wondering where the best places are to run around the area. Looking for longer loops or trails if possible around the area due to me training for Marathon and Ultra Marathon races. Thanks in advance!

The river walk trail outside the trooper gate is 12 miles (6 out to the lake and 6 back). You can also run the Konza Prairie. There are a number of trails of varying lengths there. You also have the Anneburg trail but that’s only 1.6 miles in a loop. I usually combine that one with some portion of the linear trail which itself is 16 or so miles around Manhattan. Lastly, there is the KState campus trail that goes around campus, roughly. It incorporates the infamous Manhattan Hill on Manhattan Ave. The ROTC Cadets at K state especially love that trail.

Thank you for the locations MAJ (Join to see) ! I went to the Anneburg trail today and was able to get in a 1.6 Mile time trial and a 3.2 Mile tempo run. Was a beautiful place!

Linear Trail is nice. I always started it by the Ford dealer. It is pretty long, it's a down and back.

Try running from the hill down to headquarters and back up the hill. When I was there, my VW sometimes struggled with that run. Good luck with your training.

It has been a while, but I think there is a trail(s) South off Hwy 177 towards I-70. Not exactly close by, but not a far drive either. Maybe someone with more recent experience there can help narrow it down better.
Or, you can run up to the Atomic Cannon a double dozen times...
