How to calculate MSD & NEW? Six step problem solving formula?

I have trouble understanding the 6 step problem solving formula to get the NEW also how do you calculate the MSD for explosives?

Unless they changed how to do that, the 6 step method doesn't give you the MSD. You pull MSD from two different charts or a separate equation from the manual. NEW is based on TNT equivalency. The source was FM 5-250.

It's best to ask a proficient leader at your unit about that than on here bud. Besides it can be confusing if you don't have someone to help you out in person
