Conditional Release from NG to Active (Financial Hardship)?

I am part of the NG too and it always pains me to hear of a Reservist going over to the AD side. Let me tell you why the Reserve component is better if you are in a financial situation. I am currently deployed as a single soldier and earning Base Pay, BAH, IDP, Hazard Pay, and BAS. If you need money fast, deploy within the NG or if you cannot find a deployment, find a job in the Guard as SAD, ADOS, or AGR (you probably won't be able to get this though). You will be making twice as more than if you went Active Duty. Shit, even a civilian job will pay you more than AD. All in all, if you still decide to go AD, talk to an Active Duty recruiter to get the DA Form 368, fill it out, pass it on to your leadership, who will decide if they need you or not (if you're an E4 and below, most likely they can let you go), this may take months, depending on your unit if they decide to expedite the process.

Get with a Recruiter. Fill out a DA Form 368 Conditional Release Request. Send it up your Chain of Command. The time it takes will vary from one Command to another. Once it is submitted, it will be at least 3-6 months before you have the final answer. Bear in mind that each Commander at each level do not have to grant the release. They can say NO. They are not obligated to release you.
