I participated in the DANCON march back in 2017 in Iraq. I know they do it in Kosovo every year. I had an NCO reach out and say that the certification for completion is worth points and goes in your records but I don’t see how? Can someone shed some light on this?

Look in AR 600-8-19 Promotions, it will list what awards are worth points.
Also look in AR 600-8-22 in the section on foreign awards and badges, it will list whether the DANCON march medallion is an authorized award for wear or acceptance. Some foreign awards are only authorized to be accepted but are not authorized for wear.

The DANCON March Medal is listed as being authorized for acceptance and wear in all three degrees, Bronze, silver, and Gold. It is in Table D-1 of 600-8-22.

It is not listed as having any promotion point value in AR 600-8-19 nor is any other foreign award or badge. Look at table starting at 3-11 in paragraph 3-17.

Look at AR 600-8-19 for the process to properly apply for wear and acceptance of the award. I know of cases where Soldiers participated in partnership exercises and competed and earned foreign badges but failed to ensure the proper documentation was done, causing stolen valor issues later in life. For example the SFC board and Schutzensnuars.

You are partly correct. You can accept it but not wear it. I have one. You need to look at Note 1 in the reg at the end of the table. "Notes:
1 Honorary. Unless otherwise specified, this award may only be accepted and retained; not allowed for wear on the U.S. Army uniform. Many decorations
may or may not be authorized for wear and are only honorary. Accompanying documents must be read very carefully."

John H Green Jr - Note there is no "note 1" on table D1 for for the Dancon. Your regulation may be outdated or your certificate may predate the authorization as did many Soldiers awards of the German fitness badge prior to it being accepted as an authorized badge.

CSM Richard StCyr - CSM, unfortunately the current regulation states 'Danish Contingent March Medal See note 1 (token acceptance only).'
Kind of bummed since I completed it today.

The only way it could count for points or go into your records would be if it is recognized by DA, which means you could wear it of your uniform. You will have to check the regs.
