I have a projection for Camp Henry, South Korea I will be reclassing to a 31K (Military Working Dog Handler) and I am just curious to what I might be looking forward to in this duty location if anyone can provide some insight? I am well aware of the basic duties an MP as well as a Dog Handler will have, just wondering if anyone knows of any other info or things you would have liked to know prior to arriving, TIA!

I used to be a Camp Henry. 1970/71. Inventory management center. Lived at camp walker. I had all the dogs on my accountable records. Treated them as a commodity. I was in charge of commodity branch. You will have a great time.

Just be prepared to go to other locations. Though your orders say Henry, you could end up at one of the other kennels on pennisula. Expect to hit the ground running and focus on certification with your assigned MWD. Inprocessing can be chore. Travel when you get the chance if you have never been to Korea. Get to know the KATUSA they are great to learn from reference to their culture. Participate in all events that are offered on post.

Great info, I appreciate the insight and advice SFC. I plan on being pretty open to whatever they offer/place me to do.

Admittedly it has been 20 years since I was stationed there and I have no clue what your duties would be beyond the guarding the 2 gates, it is super small, but I had a fantastic time there. So much so that the CSM intervened when I tried to extend for the 2nd time
