What happened to today's Army? When did we go from following lawful orders, regs, SOPs, and policies, to crying to the IG when it they don't suit you?

It seems that if someone is called out for not following the rules, at least from what I have seen in the USAR, thy run to the "complaint department" because it's not the way they want it. When did we start holding hands and kissing butts?

In my experience, the IG has been a pretty good "BS" filter when complaints come in. They hear the individual out and then tell them if it is a valid complaint, a complaint that should be handled by someone else (EO for example) or not warranted.

WRT rules, sometimes the rules are simply not legal, moral or ethical. That is why we have an IG process.
