I feel like the combination of integrity and initiative get me in trouble out here sometimes though; there are a great deal of people that do not enjoy a rocking boat.

Been there, done that, got the T-Shirt. I posted this same article on LinkedIn today as well. I believe there are a lot of civilain employers that need to be educated on what they get from a veteran. Always use the best of judgment before taking the initiative and know your boundries.

That's an excellent article, sir. I used those eight traits and more as I transitioned from active duty service to civil service as a DA civilian. Vets (and soon-to-be vets) would be well served to write those traits down (or print off the article) and include those words in cover letters and resumes.
