My son will be shipping to basic in a couple of months as an 11X Option 40. Assuming he makes it all the way through (OSUT, RASP, BAT), which courses will have graduation ceremonies for families to attend? Will there be a BCT graduation before he starts the AIT portion of OSUT, or is it just one ceremony for both at the end?

(And yes, I do know the odds, but I believe he has the preparation and the drive to make it all the way through to the Regiment.)

It's been years since I went through OSUT, but then you barely knew when BCT phase ended and the Graduation ceremony was at the end.

1997 for me. Never knew there was a change in there somewhere.

MAJ Bryan Zeski - I was one of the early OSUT classes, hit Ft Benning 7 Jan. 1983 (why do dates like that stick in our minds). I remember the Drills saying something about Basic was over, but I didn't seen any difference in things.

I can't speak for anything other than OSUT, but when I went through in 2012 the "AIT Graduation" was the Turning Blue Ceremony the day before OSUT Graduation, there was absolutely no discernible difference between the BCT and AIT portions of OSUT.

He probably won't make it to Regiment, but that's no big deal, most people won't. Everyone thinks they have what it takes or they wouldn't try out.
Airborne usually has a graduation ceremony on the drop zone on the last jump when you get your wings pinned on.
If your son successfully passes RASP and is selected, there is a "Donning of the Beret" ceremony at the Ranger memorial for graduation that families can attend as well.
