Augusta, GA has an excellent Vet Center and team that care for their clients. I go for individual counseling and group sessions and has been a real help

Many of the vets I interview during my research on combat trauma are much more satisfied w/ their physical healthcare than behavioral healthcare for the following reasons.
Most of their front line clinicians, and their 4 psychiatrists have no military experience. It is vital to be culturally informed of the military, and especially the realities of combat. And the psychiatrists prescribe a concoction of psychotropics which does not directly address the underlying psychosocial
issues.
