Any help would be very much appreciated, Thank you in advance. I have a Soldier that he passes his PT test and goes to gym consistently can’t pass the Army body fat percentage standard due to where he is being taped...is there a possibility if he were to use the BodPod the AWC has to prove that he’s within range of body fat?

No. AR 600-9 allows the tape test as the only method for officially determining body fat .

PS: The tape is actually MUCH more generous than the bod pod... Most people GAIN a lot of percentages in the pod.

In my 15 years i have only once, ONCE not needed to be taped. Yeah it's annoying, but as long as he is passing the tape it doesn't matter. This Soldier is far from being the only person in this situation. The weight standards suck, we all know it. I'm about 20 lbs over what i "should" be ....if it was the 50s and I only at 1 lettuce leaf and ran marathons everyday. But I pass the tape. THOR3 has a $2500 BMI scale/machine, according to it, I'm at like 16%, according to the tape I'm at 21%, according to height/weight standards, I'm 20 lbs over weight.
This is also the reason we have the tape, because the height/weight standards cannot apply to everyone.

Right there with you! I am supposed to weigh 196 for my height. If I weigh 196 I am either dying of AIDS or cancer.

When I weigh my normal weight of 215-220 I tape around 21-23% body fat.

Using the method the expensive scales use at some of the nice gyms I am really like 16-18%.

I hate the heigh weight standards and I was hoping with the ACFT we would see a change in the height and weight standards, but I guess not.

So hit those shrugs and neck lifts guys and make sure you keep doing your planks, side bends, and sit ups!

Per AR 600-9, the circumference based tape test is the only authorized test to determine body fat
