Are you required to wear the Regimental Crest (RDI) on the ASU along with the DUI?

I was issued a set of 3 of my units insignia for the ASU (1 on each shoulderloop and 1 on the flash of the beret). Do I need another to put in place of the Regimental Crest that would normally be pinned above my nameplate? Or is it acceptable to wear the uniform without a regimental crest or unit crest above the nameplate?
Also, is it authorized to wear the standard blue flash on the beret or do I need to have my unit's flash sewed on right away as well?
I'll be going to a friends graduation so I want to make sure I'm not messed up if I wear my ASUs.

Your RDI is your DUI. If you're combat arms you affiliate with the first unit you're assigned to. Support branches have their own RDI for their branch. For instance, I'm a Career Counselor and fall under AG branch so I wear that unless I chose to affiliate with the 75th because that was my first unit (support branches can affiliate with a Regiment they served in or their branch).
Your unit doesn't have a flash unless they are an Airborne unit. If you wear a black beret, the correct backing is the blue one.
Also, you will need your unit's awards. They go above your nameplate and below your RDI. All units have some awards unless they are TDA units. The National Guard units have a long history of fighting in many of our bloodiest campaigns and your unit almost certainly has awards. Check with your company supply Sergeant for those awards.

Not necessarily the case. Combat Arms generally use their RDI's as their DUI's, but for most POG's the DUI will be their unit, but their RDI will be their initial branch (OD, QM, TC, etc...)

Where is your Chain of Command? Whoever issued those items should be competent to tell you where and when to wear them!
Do you copy Chain of Command? That means your immediate military supervisor or their supervisor!

I understand Sergeant Major. I'm in a National Guard unit and only graduated from initial training about a month ago, so I've only met my supply NCO. I won't be properly introduced to my CoC until next month's drill weekend.
I think I may just attend the graduation in civilian clothing to make things easier until I can get things sorted out with my ASU, thanks.
