I know this is done. Just curious how many actually do this. I believe it is allowed because music is for all and nothing is worn on uniform.

I've seen it done when the APFT was on a track. Tracks are boring and you have to have something to keep you entertained while running eight laps.

Agreed!- I have done Army cadences for 1st mile, then switch to Rocky type Eye of the Tiger, and techno dance for the final burst. Many have been happy about it....

No but I've seen it done. Yes it's allowed. Hell you could even carry a phone with you playing music. From what I recall, the reg says no headphones in uniform. It doesn't say anything about units can't play motivational music or that even someone can't carry music with them.

I have my phone on me when I do the walk because I use my MayMyRun App to keep my pace. I'm AD.

Maybe not on an APFT now that I think of it. That's usually during "fun" runs.

I have seen the huge time clock set up.

I love the big clock when running laps.

We generally have both. Red digital clock, calling out times, at far end, away from that is some motivating Rocky music or techno for the last lap

I've never seen that.
What I have seen, which was helpful, are "pace runners" for the stragglers.

I recommend it as an experiment. Especially for those on the wire. Maybe just the last lap- Rocky, techno, Avengers... - I like to burst at the end- seconds count!!

I am a civilian now. I don't actually sing cadence while I jog, but I do listen to music. I really like ACDC.
