Yes, one as a 2nd LT had jumped with the 101st on D Day. Rod Davis would not discuss anything except to say he had been debriefed and that was it! Dan Soria had been captured on D Day, but I do not recall what unit he was with.

My first assignment as a Second Lieutenant, the first sergeant wore an 82nd combat patch. Had a Battalion commander who wore a glider badge. He congratulated me on going to flight school and said that he wished that he was going.
