I’ve been at basic training for 2 months. I was married prior to joining the Army. Deers said they have everything they need. I’ve double checked. Still no BAH, I hear it sometimes takes a few months to be processed and I will be back paid, is this true? Any thoughts/Advice?

Have you been to finance? It's my understanding that BAH is not automatic with DEERS. The good news is you will get back pay for this time though that doesn't help pay the bills now.

Agree, NCO Support channel needs to help you. DA Form 5960 at S1 with a copy of your mortgage, lease, or similar document. The 5960 starts, stops, and does periodic verification of BAH.

DEERS is only responsible for enrolling your dependent(s) in benefits such as TRICARE and SGLI coverage. You have to visit finance to start your BAH.

Since you are in Basic you need to request to see your personnel NCO so that you can file the appropriate finance paperwork. Good luck.
