I’m about to PCS & I don’t have a sponsor. What should i do?

My DEROS is Jan 24 & my report date isn’t until March 20. I will be reporting early. However, i haven’t been contacted by anyone. I don’t know what unit i’m going to because it just says “3rd Combat Support Replacement”. I would hate to get there and have no clue where i’m going when it’s pickup day.

You report to the reception battalion at your new post. At the end of inprocessing your brigade will send a rep to pick everyone up and take you to your new battalion.

When I graduated AIT and flew to Germany, I didn't have a sponsor untli I arrived in manheim. It sucked. I felt lost. I needed assistance and no one was able to help, other than to steer me in the right direction toward my attached unit. A sponsor of another soldier happened to be in the same battalion and drove me from the airport to my assigned company. From there I chatted with some soldiers and they all offered to let me sleep in their room for the night. I took one up on the offer and we all went out drinking that night. Had a great time. The next day I showed up to formation and my 1SG apologized and assigned me to a platoon with a sponsor after formation.
So the sponsor came a little late. Wasn't much help. He was still a great NCO though and we had a good few laughs about it.
Long story short: I hope this doesn't happen to you. I got lucky. It was a really shitty situation. Good luck.
