How can I get around being medically disqualified from the Air Force for NF1, but only having the genetic code for it?

I was medically disqualified from the Airforce for NF1 but I only have the genetic code for it and not the symptoms that would affect negatively in any way. I even saw a neurologist and confirmed that there was nothing worng with me.

You may not be able to get around it. NF1 and NF2, and the history of, are disqualifiers. DoDI 6130.03 does not distinguish between having symptoms or just having the gene marker. Just says history of. And, having the gene markers for it may have fallen into the realm of "history of" for the Air Force. If this was MEPS that DQ'd you.....your fight may very well be done on trying to get in.

Trying to get around something that has disqualified you will likely set you up for a pretty short time in the military. Unfortunately, you probably don't have a fight in this as MEPS disqualified you and did not recommend a waiver.
There are other avenues to serve that don't require you to be uniformed. Look into other ways you can help.
