Can I secure an enlistment bonus through my DEP contract?

You must complete the training and arrive at your duty station and have met the requirements to receive the bonus, I.E. if there is Airborne in the contract, you must graduate airborne or you wont receive anything.
Also, ask yourself, are you strictly in it for the money or do you actually want to serve 6 years.

I'm asking if it will be on my enlistment contract because it will be on my DEP but if its not on my enlistment contract, that doesn't do anything. And as far as the six years goes it's not even a whole re-up. Give me 30K (after tax) on top of E-1 pay and I can shut up and do whatever you need me to do.

Peter Gifford - 6 years is the maximum re-enlistment contract. Just make sure it explicitly states that you are enlisting for xyz on your contract.

Peter Gifford I've never heard of no crazy stuff like that. Generally speaking, as long as nothing has changed from when you DEP till when you ship, and everything stays the same. Otherwise, there would be no purpose for doing the same work twice.

SFC (Join to see) ok... I was dumb and didn't realize that the DEP contract has a ship out date for basic/OSUT. I thought that you still had to sign another contract right before shipping out. Thanks for the clarification.

Peter Gifford you actually do sign another one. Your DD4/1 has you entering the DEP, the tentative date of shipping and your expected term length. Your DA 3286-A has everything you're promised:Bonus, MOS, special programs, etc.
When you return to ship out you will sign a DD4/3 releasing you from DEP and agreeing to begin your active duty portion and it will have your actual term length. You'll also sign a 3286-B. Normally, these items all match, but if there's an issue like a delay in shipping or an issue with one of the options, this is the official contract obligation.
Basically, it's like buying a car. You show up, sign an agreement that works for both parties. Then, when you show up to pick it up, you sign the actual legally binding, obligation documents.
