I've been in service for 78 months, SGT, my MOS-92F. No ALC. No bars or flags. Passed my APFT and ACFT.
Do I still have to go to promotion board? Please advise.

Once you hit MLI you are promotable without going to the board. However, your unit can bar you to prevent you from becoming promotable without attending a board.

Did you end up going to the promotion board? I'm an E-5 with 87 months time in service, 28 months time in grade and wondering why I haven not hit the MLI

There maybe a couple of reasons. You have a negative action against you ie flag or bar. You may have lost starus due to an erroneous error. Such as your weapons or pt falling out of the system whe it wasn't supposed to. Your commander didn't sign off on your MLI status and didn't counsel you.
