For anyone who is Cyber Operations Specialist (17C) or Cyber Network Defender (25D) , what's the job like?

A simple day to day would greatly be helpful. Also, if you wanted to enroll in a SANS course for training, would it be a simple approval by staff or do you have to be in that role for X amount of years?

Day to day varies based upon where you are. But overall the days are fairly easy going and the schedules are never too straining on anyone. As far as SANS courses go it is just getting approved to attend. There’s no time period requirements. If your unit wants to let you go then you’ll go.

Day to day ops depend upon where your slotted. Opstempo I'd drastically different in a CPT than in a battalion cyber security division. Luckily they took COMSEC off the 25D taskings so it alleviates that head ache.
