Hello I am 16 years old and am planning on enlisting into the air force in May (soft book program). In 2017 I had a surgery to shave down a small piece of skull (non-invasive Chiari malformation surgery). Everything went as planned and I have been told by two doctors I am physically ok to join the military. Will it be possible to get a waiver ? Is any specific branch easier to enter? Do doctors notes help in this process?

The DoDI (Department of Defense Instructions) 6130.03...that all branches must follow....your answer will be in Section 5.2
You may need a waiver but as long as you have medical documentation stating this will not be an issue....you should be good. Let your Recruiter know.

As long as there is no neural deficit or lingering inability to use your neck, you should be fine. It will probably require a waiver, but it shouldn't be that hard to pass.

Always be honest and upfront about your medical conditions, you don't want to get discharged for enlisting under false pretenses.
