It's just a reduction of your MSO. Personally I don't see the appeal, it just means you don't have to transfer to the IRR at the end of your RC contract.

I read about it through the Reserves Website. Wanted to know more about it. I’ve reached out to one of my old buddies whose transitioned and he has since then clarified for me.
