Hi everyone,
I was honorable discharge with a reenlistment code of RE-3 and separation code KHF. I’m already working with my recruiter to get the waiver done and he's pretty confident they will accept me. I failed to pass the DLPT as a linguist in the Air Force, so I couldn’t finish the rest of my training and I was separated but they recognized that I used all the resources available to me, hence the honorable discharge.
I’m going for OCS, but currently I’m curious about basic training. I wasn’t an NCO, so will I be treated like everyone else? I don’t mind that at all, but like I said, I’m curious.

Yes, you'll be treated like everyone else. In fact, I wouldn't offer up my prior service to cadre, or peers during basic.
Be mature, be professional, help your peers, read the training schedule and ensure you and your peers are ready for the next day, before the end of the day prior.
Bad = I'm prior service Air Force, and I know this DS can't do or say that. (Barring it being unlawful, or putting someone's life at risk. LET it go.)
Good = DS on graduation day: Who are you, private?

1SG, don't they just do a transition type of basic training not the normal one we went through. I can't remember the name of it, but I thought it was some sort of 'prior-service, this is how we do it in the Army' type of Basic Training. I am thinking back like maybe between 10-15 years ago so I don't remember all the details, but I thought their transition course was like maybe less than a month, maybe three weeks.

Oh and what I was told before I went was: don't volunteer for anything (I did when asked if anyone had a business degree and they made me the laundry private), keep your mouth shut, and do what you're told. I'd volunteer also, right time, right uniform, and right attitude. Good luck.

CPT (Join to see) I've never heard of an abbreviated basic, other than no OBC for some medical direct commissioned officers, but I retired in 2005.

1SG (Join to see) - the DS should have to look at your name tape to remember who you are....

CPT (Join to see) - I fell for the same trick at Air Force basic. they asked if anyone could type and they made me the flight office technician.

You're certainly gonna have a harder time in Army Basic than you did in Air Force Basic

I’m sure it is but that makes it worth it since it won’t be just a repeat.

A1C Jorge Prias - Personally, I would recommend that you keep the Air Force E-3 prior service to a mum so as to not bring unwanted attention and comments from the Drill Sergeants and other trainees. Not saying you couldn't handle it, but why bring unwanted/unneeded attention upon yourself.

Honestly,I just graduated Army basic and it was easy. My 2007 basic in the AF was far harder.

You'll be treated like everyone else. Just keep moving forward and dont go into it expecting to be treated differently or with an attitude that you're superior due to your prior service time.
Stay humble, work hard.
