Previous or Current positions as Traning Room NCOIC/Orderly Room

My current mos is 89B, I am an ammunition specialist. HOWEVER, my unit is just beginning to stand up so I have been put in the position of the Training Room NCOIC, Orderly Room NCOIC, as well as the HQ PSG. Is there any one who has worked in any of these positions that can give me some guidance? Maybe you have a set routine that works for you or makes things a little simpler, things are starting to get a little hectic with everything that needs to get done and it will only get more difficult. This is my first time working in the office, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Get familiar with annual AR 350-1 requirements and DTMS. If your Commander and 1SG really want you to get high speed, learn your way around CATS (Combined Army Training Strategy) under the Army Training Network (can be linked via google search or through AKO).
CATS provides your Leadership with an easy way to break down your Mission Essential Task List (METL). The individual tasks under CATS have not only the information straight from the SMCT, but also in most cases will tell you exactly what you need (materials) to put on the training.

SGT James, years ago I served as Orderly Room NCOIC plus worked for years in S-1 as a 42A, so I can suggest that you become smart with ARIMS (the official Army filing system), you will need it to organize your papers, plus when it comes to inspections, that's one of the things they check. Also become familiar with DTMS, you will use that to create training schedules, keep track of training, etc. Also if you are not familiar with excel, powerpoint and word, start using them, you will type many memorandums, databases, keep track of stats too. Lastly, be proud of the work your office will produce, even though is not your MOS, take ownership of what you and your Soldiers if you have any do, you are the first person the Commander and 1SG will ask about something, don't get caught not knowing what they are talking about

You can take a look at ADP 7-0 and FM 25-100. These both have information on Training operations. In an appendix I can't remember which on it even shows how to run your training meeting. I hope this helps
