I am Army National Guard. I received a 3,666$ debt repayment for the first half of my reenlistment bonus and they took the second half. I was told because I received the promotion to SSG with 13B they take the bonus. the promotion was for the needs of the Army for a deployment. does anyone know what I need to do to push this up?

There is an outside chance with a debt waiver packet. Debt is waived if a SM can show that a debt will hurt the family. That is on the AD side. I don't know about the NG side.

If your bonus was tied to you PMOS and you accepted a promotion in your SMOS, your SMOS is now your PMOS and your bonus is now null in void and any payment will be taken back

Just hard for me to grasp since it was based on the needs of the Army for a deployment. Thank you.

You have a choice to make, but I believe since taken the second half was taken, you're SOL.

It sucks. Especially being in the Guard.
