There are many problems in the military today. If you had a few minutes with your senior enlisted advisor, what issue would you address? What would you try to change?

I would congratulate him on his selection to be SMA. I would applaud him for listening to the troops about the tattoo policy, and for following up with senior Army leadership to change the policy. That showed he really listens to the troops and cares about what they say. And then I would encourage him to stay as concerned and motivated throughout his term as SMA as he was on the tattoo topic. To continue listening and to continue following through.

Absolutely agree chief. I often tell young leaders to remember what it was like to be a private. All the dumb things we had to do. All for what? If there was a lesson like miyagi taught danielson in karate kid, id understand. But mopping a parking lot was truly one of the dumbest things I've ever done. And that was part or BNCOC. It's great that he listened to the troops and changed one mans vision around. Tattoos don't make you any less of a soldier.

I would ask if he remembered that field problem that we were on back at FT Riley and 2 Tank buried their track up to the turret in the mud when they threw a track, or the NTC Rotation back in 93. Of course I would congratulate him on the position as well.
