Can a promotion lead to a change in my assignment?

Hello!
Trying to get some clarification if I get promoted next month, can my current assignment change?
I re-enlisted for a school and successfully graduated. I was suppose to PCS this month, but since there is a stop movement unfortunately I have to wait.

It could, but it will not. If you were promotable what you were placed on assignment, and you almost definitely were, the assignment you were placed on was for the next higher grade

My best advice take the promotion and be flexible learn the new unit and their specific needs.

Since you are in a MOS that can go to a lot of different units you will probably go to your next duty station but may change to a unit that needs a SGT 74D on their MTOE and not an E4 or below Soldier.
