Is reclass to 14E a PCS move for married soldiers?

It’s a PCS length school because it is 20 weeks, which is exactly the minimum requirement for a PCS length training.
For TDY length training you will usually be given the option to return after training to clear or to move your family ahead of time and then attend training. Even if you choose to return to clear it is still a TDY enroute and not TDY and return training status because you are attending TDY while you are enroute to your next duty station.

No, it is a TDY en route unless you get TDY and return approved. The AIT is 20 weeks which falls short of the 6 month minimum to be considered a PCS. There is no exception to policy.

So I would be going from OCONUS, how would it work with moving my family and stuff? Would they go to the next duty station and then I would go TDY to the AIT from there? I don’t think they can just stay OCONUS...

CPL (Join to see) - If you are OCONUS and have a school date with a follow on assignment, you will likely go TDY and return, and then PCS. Are you in Germany?

We’re in Hawaii right now and trying to figure out how reclassing would work because we are technically OCONUS.

I’m in Hawaii, it’s usually a TDY en route, but for your case, it will likely be a TDY and return CPL (Join to see)

RESOLVED: it is NOT a PCS move. We will go from OCONUS to the duty station I will be assigned to after training- then I will go TDY to school.
