Hi Guys. I have a question. Will my height disqualify me from army flight school or WOFT? My height is 5 Feet 2 Inches. The 64 is my dream.

Although the minimum is 64" to fly for the Army, there have been instances, very few, where personnel under this requirement were allowed to fly. The only true way to find out if the Army will allow you to fly is to apply for a waiver. If the branch says non-waiverable, then you have your answer. Until you get a definitive no, you can get a yes.

I just stumbled on this thread for no apparent reason. I went through the program and was guaranteed Viet Nam. I don't know what your end result was but back in the day, your height and reach would've been an impediment for Army rotary wing aviator (WO) flight school. Although during Viet Nam the Army did screwy things. You'd need a connection just to get your foot in the door. I knew a guy who was way too tall and got in. I guess conversely that's a horse of a different color. Regarding a waiver, you'll still need a connection making a call for you but you'd need to be outstanding in another area. I think I got here by looking up my best friend who was a major and died recently. His wife listed a lot of medals in his Obit that was online everywhere. He didn't want his bronze star listed because he got it for doing nothing in Korea but had a silver star from combat in Viet Nam. He told me to make sure it wasn't done but his wife thought I was off-kilt and wrong. But, he won't know about it I guess. I hope it worked out for you. It changed my life.

The AF just announced they are getting rid of height requirements to fly. Just a thought
