I know this is a very late response however I wanted to address it with those whom will have to take it at NCOES. most gyms in a civilian community do not have the actual bike that is needed, therefore it's hard to train. Best suggestion I can give is get on a stationary bike, put it to almost the hardest resistance and pedal away. Do this every day up to 2 -3 days before the APFT to allow healing of the muscles. I've been doing the bike since 2008 and it never gets easier. Good luck

I have a permanent so I do the 10km stationary bike. For me, I have 27 minutes to complete. The last time I did it in 20.01. However, I grew up doing a lot of biking, including mountain biking. If I really pushed myself, I could probably do it in about 15 minutes or so. On the flip side, there was one other person that had to do the bike with me and she also had 27 minutes. She failed. Never really ridden a bike in her life.

It's like riding a bike on a slight uphill for 10km. Your legs will feel wobbly when you get off the bike but it will pass. Best of luck CPL.

Hopefully you've been practicing because biking can be rough. Make sure to take your time to setup the handlebars and the seat height before starting. If your seat is too low, it can increase the amount of effort required to move the pedal, which can burn you out.
