It's possible but you need to understand that even though you ship for BCT in August it does not mean you start your BCT in August. Some schools are delayed weeks. You need to understand that there are only so many training classes that are staffed and those really cannot be sped up and as you lack the schooling, you cannot just be inserted in a class on week x. Plus with Covid you may be looking at a quarantine block.

Use this time to get yourself in better shape, to lose that extra few pounds or be able to do those extra few situps, pushups or improve your run time. Use this time rather than wanting to give it away. Nothing that is out there is going to end or evaporate in a mere 7 weeks.

Garrett Holliman - Covid pandemic just added to it. To one degree or another it has always been like this. There are a lot of things that you are not told when you sign that dotted line. This is one of the many little things.

Your orders say you ship for BCT on Aug 3. What that means is that on or about Aug 3 you will be taken to MEPS where you will run through a a quickie version of MEPS. They are just verifying that things have not changed and you are good to go. Height weight etc. Then you will officially sign your contract and swear the oath. This is the one that counts. Later that day you will board a bus and be taken to the airport to fly out to you BCT post. Therein you will in-process and start reception. Shots, first haircut to standard, paperwork, pay and the like. You will then be assigned a reception battalion and here you will wait with others like you until your "class" gets full. But you are usually are reception anywhere from 10 days to two weeks minimum. Some sit for a few months but this not common. You sit until your class becomes full and then one day a group of drills come in and take you out, form you up march you off.

When I went through basic in '88 we arrived and for 21 days we sat at reception until our class was full and we were marched off and boarded buses that took up to our training barracks.

Dont rush it, man. You're 5 weeks out. Improve yourself while you have the time. The training will get here when it gets here.

No, you’ll always get the earliest ship date available. The Army even offers bonuses for early shipping, so you were offered the first thing smoking out of there
