After 4 years of trying I still can’t get a Veterans ID card to show/reflect that I served in good standing, makes absolutely no sense to me. Local VA told me unless I have a medical issue I don’t need one.

You should be able to do this online with a DD 214, any govt ID like a driver's license, your SSN, and a jpg passport photo for the veteran ID.

You will have to create a DS Logon if you don't already have one.

Been there, done that, denied. I was a Personnel Officer serving for 11 years but can’t get this card. I just carry a copy of my DD Form 214 in my wallet in the event I need it. Sad but true.

CPT Lila Gilbert Here are two links. One information and another that may help. Your local VA is wrong and they are also stupid. All veterans are entitled to a Veteran's ID Card. Please contact the VA HQ that maight be able to help. Another option is to contact a VFW or DAV Veteran Service Officer that can help. Please keep us posted.

So you are being denied a VA ID card because you don’t have a serious ongoing condition?

That doesn’t make sense. The personnel who issue the ID cards would have no way of knowing your medical history anyway because of HIPAA.
