I was told by my NCOs here at AIT that C4-Preworkout can make you show a false positive for amphetamines on a flight physical.

C-4 won’t give you a false positive. The old formulations of several preworkouts has substances that have long since been banned. DHEA was the common one for a while, it’s now on the banned substances list.
FYI, there are no false positives in the Army drug testing. The Army first tests with a reagent that checks for metabolites that indicate certain drugs were metabolized. They can be illegal and legal drugs and this is where you would get a false positive. When they have a positive test, the sample is tested using gas chromatography, which gives the exact substances present and their volume or ppm. You can’t fake it, you can’t mask it, you can’t dilute it to hide it.

Also, I highly recommend you quit pre-workout. It’s terrible for your heart, it’s terrible for your sleep and it’s terrible for your recovery. Long term use leads to serious heart conditions like palpitations that will get you kicked off flight status early in your career.

Call the flight doc at the MISC and ask them to email you a copy of the APL for preworkout. There is a liat of aupplements and medications that are authorized on flight status.

C4 in itself will not create a false negative for a UA. The old formula, as well as the old Jakd3D formula would give false positives, but this was changed about 7-8 years ago.
