Transitioned from AD Marine Corps to the National Guard a couple years ago and still trying to figure some stuff out. Let's say you're off-duty (not on orders) and one of your superiors is hitting you up talking like a douche, pulling rank, and trying to order you to do something. Can you tell them to go kick rocks and not get hemmed up for it?

No rank involved if not on orders or on drill. Be professional, remind them you are not in a duty status. Walk softy , don't burn bridges.

Not sure where the douche/non-douche communication cut line is for you, but your chain of command should communicate between drills and training to keep you informed. You might want to take a wait and see approach before you tell someone to go F themselves and then you have to ask them for a favor like constructive Drill credit or excusal from an AT because your civilian job is intractable about that particular week of your life. Just saying it's a two way street.
