Just wondering if anyone could tell me how long it usually takes?

The process could take a few months. It all depends on how fast the Conditional Release gets signed and sent up the chain and back down again.

My husband has been taking to his chain of command for a year now. It got through BDE and then got “lost”.

You need to put together a conditional release packet with your unit administrator. The action will then go to your CO, BC, BDE, then 1st General Officer in your Chain of Command for approval. After he/she approves, it will go to the USAREC G1 for signature and release. You will then get a signed Conditional Release form that you can take to a recruiter. This could take 3 months - forever depending on how persistent you are.
