It has been six years since my last deployment, and miss the sense of purpose of doing my job downrange.

The adrenaline is seductive. I met quite a few soldiers with PTSD who wanted to go back on deployment.

Indeed I do!!!!! I deployed twice, then had to have ope heart surgery when I was 37. As a result, I am C-Coded which means no deployment. I hate it, and would love to deploy in a minute! I often feel guilty, like I am not doing my part.
