Why would the VA refuse treatment to a friend of mine, fellow veteran of 35 years active duty in the Marines and Army?

My friend, Ronnie Young, is currently trapped in Iraq due to Covid-19 travel restrictions. He was receiving teleconference treatment from the mental health dept. in Mountain Home, AR but that treatment was terminated, not because personnel at the MH CBOC but, by bureaucrats in Little Rock, AR at the CAVHS. Ronnie, diagnosed at 70% for PTSD is a risk for suicide but, in this case, it appears that a rule or regulation trumps the health and welfare of a veteran who has given his whole life to protect our country. Doesn't that make you want to throw up?

He was completely removed from treatment or was the clinic he uses closed ? Has he been able to contact his Dr or Hospital Staff and find out whats going on?

1LT Dennis Butte - So CAVHS has a policy of only treating vets who live in CONUS? He needs to peak to patient advocacy at that hospital

Thank you for your comment. I will check with Ronnie and see if he has tried that. His wife and I have both written to our two Senators and Representative; and the White House and the President. We have our local DAV working also but have not found the person who will take action. All have just kicked the can down the road.
