I know what I expect from a Student-Veterans organization ("SVO"); academic support, mentorship, social activities, volunteerism, help adjusting, and emotional health support.&nbsp;<div><br></div><div>If you have been part of an SVO, what were/are your best practices? If you are looking at becoming a Student-Veteran, what would you want from an SVO?</div>

I would want some sort of social gathering type events.  Dinners or attending some sort of musical or sporting events.

Thanks, sir! The challenge I've found is that many transitioning Veterans don't self-identify; I attribute it to their desire to move past their time in the military. The problem with that is that, at least I think, the time we spend in the military is one of the most important, if not the paramount or defining, experience of our lives. Convincing Veterans not to turn their back on that, and to continue to consider ourselves as a highly specialized network of groups and individuals is difficult.

Good thing we have RallyPoint!

Question for you - are you asking this as a student of the group or an advisor of the group?
