Are off duty soldiers required to be in uniform in the workplace?

Ive seen enlisted and officer alike come in to take care of certs, extra work, or grab items from the oroom on their off days/leave days. Recently Ive been hearing that coming into the workplace requires you to be in uniform no matter the reason. Is there a regulation that supports this, or is this something that can be company mandated?

Commander’s discretion. Your company commander could make it mandatory I believe

To me is sounds like an attempt to keep people from hanging out in the orderly room. This would make most people wait to turn in something that is really trivial such as a training cert until the next time they are on duty. I agree with most of the responses and this would be a policy not a regulation. Additionally how many people do you have off duty during the week?
