I've been on a search for a while whether it be scanning through multiple google sites or talking with others, so I decided to bring it to here as well.

I am looking for correspondence courses worth a great amount of hours, using the ALMS system, in hopes to earn promotion points. Also, mainly courses that are still active once registering, a lot of recommendations I have been provided have been discontinued unfortunately. I am already tracking the JKO (DL) courses and skill-port courses that convert hours, but I've noticed a decent success rate in earning more hours from ALMS.

Any and every piece of advice and/or recommendation(s) are highly appreciated. Thank you.

SGT(P) Christopher Poole if you like your MOS and want to stay in it and get promoted, I suggest you start college now and apply your energy there. Otherwise, your best bet to get promoted is to reclass out of your MOS

Thank you for your advice. You are 100% correct. I began college courses the 1 yr after reporting to my duty station, I have 6 classes left to complete and no I do not intend to stay in my mos.

I plan to re-class since my ROW is open, but unfortunately I haven’t had the best of luck with my retention in the rear on my process and I’m on a 9 month rotation. So I’m probably just going to extend my current contract.

Everything that I need to do/I can control on my end is squared away for re-classing. Getting my process to actually progress on what’s available and what I want to change mos to has been the battle.

I didn’t mean to rant, it’s not much about me. Just here to gain more info to share with the troops I’m helping out. SFC (Join to see)

SGT(P) Christopher Poole I can hardly imagine a Career Counselor not wanting to help out with a Soldier in the ROW who wants to reclass. But not all Counselors are good Counselors. If your Battalion Career Counselor isn't helping you out or responding to you, you should contact their Senior at Brigade who I guarantee will help you. If you don't know who that is or continue to have trouble, PM me directly and I'll help you out.
